The GCL project for October and November of 2009 was to crochet granny squares for afghans and to make lace ornaments. The members were provided with yarn and given directions for a basic granny square. The squares were 6 inches and we had enough squares to make 8 granny square afghans. The afghans and ornaments were donated to Merrill Gardens in appreciation of their providing us room for our monthly meetings. They have been most gracious and have provided coffee, hot water, and, on occassion, cookies. Pictures of the completed afghans and ornaments are shown below.
